Piazza del Popolo is one of the most famous and most visited squares of Rome, located at the foot of Pincio hill. It is a place of great visual impact, with its illiptical shape, the obelisk in the centre and the two twin churches that dominate it.
Over the centuries, the square has undergone a lot of transformations. It was in the 19th century, thanks to the project of Giuseppe Valadier, that this square had its current look, with its elegant arrangment and the surrounding gardens.
