The Campidoglio, one of the seventh hills of Rome, has been the religious an political center of the city since ancient times. Today, on this hill there is one of the most beautiful square in the world, designed by Michelangelo Buonarroti, and some of the most important museums of Rome.

The square, shaped like a trapeze, is dominated by Palazzo Senatorio, seat of the Municipality of Rome. Michelangelo completely redesigned the square, making it a great and solemn area with a monumental staircase and a balustrade that offers a spectacular view of the Roman Forums.
